Top 3 Places Where People Spend the Holidays

SM San Mateo

Just a few days left and we are saying bye-bye to 2018 while welcoming 2019. People are starting to get busy with holiday plans, preparations, and gifts. I can’t help but smile at the thought of how the days swiftly pass by. Where did time even go?

If there’s one thing I love about the coming holiday, it’s the fact that Dane will be going home really soon and we’ll be together to welcome the new year with a happy heart. It’s been 3 years that we haven’t celebrated our wedding anniversary and birthdays together, so this is something we’re really looking forward to!

Here’s my list of top 3 places where people spend the holidays:

1. At Home

Whether it’s the place where you live or your hometown to be with family, December holidays is always best celebrated with families and loved ones. It’s that time of the year where many go home to visit their parents and relatives.

Take it from us – we don’t have travel planned for the remaining months this year. We just want to stay at home and be together. We don’t want to overspend because of unplanned trips and travels. It’s cheaper and more convenient.

2. Malls and Parks

Many people also celebrate Christmas and New Years in the parks and malls. Another cheap way to celebrate the holidays with family – that is if you’re just window shopping, right? Parks and malls have a free fireworks display that we can enjoy!

Speaking of malls, SM San Mateo is all set for the coming holiday! A vibrant carnival party took place at SM City San Mateo on November 9 (my brother’s birthday, :D) as the mall officially welcomed the Christmas season with a special program for kids.

Almost 100 kids dressed in costumes of red and gold joined SM City San Mateo’s Christmas program which centered on the unveiling of a giant Carnival-themed centerpiece.

SM City San Mateo Manager Lorna Paderon and Assistant Mall Manager Raymond Bonifacio were also joined by partners from Rizal Provincial and San Mateo Government for the ceremonial lighting of the mall’s decors.

3. Out of Town/Country

Many Filipinos also want to experience white Christmas so a lot of us also travel abroad. It’s always fun to also celebrate the holidays while traveling, may that be alone, with your friends or family.

Whatever we plan to do this coming holiday, may we not forget the reason for the season. This is more important for me than the celebration.

Jesus who came to this world to die on the cross to save us from our sin. Oh, what a wonderful and glorious gift!
