Since the day I was actively blogging (2014), I have helped two friends start their own blogs. The first person was Melisa who was so hesitant at first but is still blogging even up to now. The second one is my friend, Sham, who just posted her very first travel post yesterday. Girl, I tell you, this lady’s first post is waaay better than mine when I started my blog, haha!
I don’t know why I get excited when someone I personally know starts blogging. There are three or four more people I like to see entering the blogosphere. I just feel like they should really be blogging, lol!
|My babies, Norbie and Shamaecha who are now grown-ups. Norbie is becoming great with photography, Sham just started blogging. Oh…Time flies!|
So why do people blog in the first place? It’s not like you get rich because you’re a blogger. Although there are many who have become big in the blogging world, not all of the bloggers become famous. You see, I am no popular blogger but still, I keep on doing it. 🙂
Bloggers blog to inspire
A blog is a place online you can call yours. Every post is an opportunity to inspire someone – whether the blog is about parenting, business, finance, investing, travel, or food. Bloggers write with hopes that it can uplift or help someone in need.
Bloggers blog to share about their lives
Some people love to share tidbits of their lives. I am one of them, lol! Sometimes, social media is just not enough for all the things we love to share – hence, the blog. I, for instance, love talking about Nate and Dane so much, some people might think I’m so cheesy already, I keep on sharing it on Facebook! harhar. So instead of bombarding my friends’ newsfeed, I write on my blog instead.
Bloggers blog to document
Many first time moms find happiness in blogging. It’s where we write our children’s developmental milestones, hoping one day when our babies grow older, they’ll look back and read the posts. And you know, be thankful they have more photos to see, kasi ako, ilan lang ang pictures ko nung bata pa ako, haha.
Bloggers blog to provide insights and reviews
With the rise of technology, more and more people go online for tips and advice from websites and blogs. Many readers check travel blogs first before planning their itinerary. Others check for product reviews before making a purchase. This is why it’s also important for bloggers to be careful with what we advise online.
Bloggers blog because it’s their passion
Many bloggers just write because it’s what they love to do. No ifs, no buts, they just write because it makes them happy. For me, blogging is like writing in my journal and I don’t think I’ll stop anytime soon. I might take a hiatus but stopping is not one of my options.
Many are asking, can you turn this passion into profit? To some, yes, they write and earn at the same time. There are opportunities that come along the way, but that should not be the reason why one should start blogging. Because if it is, baka ma-bore ka kasi money doesn’t follow right away. I’ve been blogging for years and this blog has given me some opportunities to earn extra but it’s not really huge. So if money was the reason I created this, I would’ve stopped a long, long time ago. I know the same is true for other bloggers.
One thing that keeps a blog going is CONSISTENCY. Anyone can create a blog anytime they want, as many as they want, with all the awesome themes and plugins they want. However, it takes consistency to maintain a blog.
So to my friend, Sham, welcome aboard, keep it up! ♥
My blogger friends, what else did I miss? 🙂
