The Little Ice Cream Worker

This was supposed to be just an add-on to my previous post about Nate’s Kidzooona experience. But I realized the post is loaded with photos already. So, instead, I decided to create a separate post about a short story of a young ice cream worker. This is inspired by Nate’s happiness when he was in the ice cream shop in Kidzooona. πŸ™‚

This is a story about a boy who loves ice cream. His favorite flavor – UBE! Every time his mom goes out to buy grocery, he would only have one wish – “mom, please buy me an ice cream.”

One day, he found himself staring at an ice cream store.

“Oh, I want one!” said the little boy.

The store owner said, “Oh, little fella, you’ll have to pay me first”.

The boy sadly answered, “Sir, I have nothing to pay you.”

The store owner had an idea! “You can work in my store for half an hour and I’ll give you your favorite ice cream flavor for free!”

The little boy was delighted! He agreed and he was trained to do the job.

(He agreed and he was trained to do the job)
He was happily serving the people for half an hour.

And the store owner stayed true to his promise. He got his free ice cream after helping the owner for half an hour! Yaaay! ♥

THE END.

Disclaimer: This is not about child labor whatsoever. Also, please don’t ask where the boy’s mom is and why he didn’t have money. This is all just “kathang-isip”, lol. No one was harmed while writing this short story. haha! Thanks for reading!

  1. That is a beautiful ice cream store. I'm sure my daughter would love playing there. May simple ice cream shop din siya dito sa bahay. I play with her sometimes. She sells me ice cream.

  2. That's what I like about Kidzoona, it teaches kids about certain values such as working, sharing, etc. Kids are lucky nowadays because there are educational play areas like Kidzoona. And please tell Nate I love Ube ice cream, too. πŸ™‚

  3. Aw I love this! It's an important lesson to teach children that nothing in this world comes for free. You have to pay. It also teaches them that skills are just as valuable as money! Your boy is the cutest by the way!

  4. I know! I've never been to any playhouses when I was little. So I also enjoy when I take Nate to playhouses like this. lol. I will tell Nate about that! πŸ™‚

  5. We have never tried Kidzoona. Torn kasi ako, kung maeenjoy pa ba ng anak ko or too old na siya sa play area. hehehe! But Nate looks so happy, mukhang enjoy na enjoy niya pagbebenta ng ice cream. πŸ™‚

  6. Ito na naman ang poging si Nate! Kapag ikaw ang ice cream vendor tataba at magkaka-tonsilitis si Tita Mich! Hihi. Kidding aside, it's brilliant of you on how you let Nate have fun and learn life lessons at the same time. Kudos to you, sis! <3

  7. Oooh I love this! It looks amazing for kids. I've never seen such a cute ice cream shop. I can imagine he had so much fun in there. I love the story! The fun of helping in the store and getting an ice cream is the perfect combination!

  8. I was actually looking forward for a twist on the story! Hahaha. Good thing the store owner was true to his promised. This makes me think of how I must be true of what I promised to my kids to never disappoint them. I am guilty of making a promise and never keep it thinking they will eventually forgot it.😞

  9. Nakakaloka ang disclaimer haha! Ang cute ni Nate. Can I just say I looove it when kids do pretend play. Not only are they having fun, they are also learning life lessons! Plus they look adorbs doing it lol!
