The Sickness Chain

Just last week, I wrote about Dane’s sickness and how difficult it was for LDR couples when one gets sick. Guess what, life seems to like playing with us because now, I am the one who’s sick. If there’s anything good about all this, it’s that none of us was admitted in the hospital and that Nate isn’t ill. We know this, moms and dads, we’d rather be sick that see our child suffer.

Last Monday, I knew something wasn’t right about my body when I had more than enough hours of rest but I still felt weak. It was an unproductive day. I just stayed in bed and I even asked Nate to massage my back. My tummy felt bloated as well. I didn’t like the feeling, especially since the week just started.

Unfortunately, though, there’s a yummy cassava with coconut milk served on the table so I was really tempted eat it. It’s from one of our generous neighbors. Plus, I haven’t eaten it for years already. So I ate it and drank iced tea immediately after. I think that triggered my weak body even more.

A few hours later, I started to feel constipated. My first day of the week at work didn’t turn out well. The day after that, it got worse and even though I’ve already taken Loperamide to help the bowel movement, it still didn’t work. Aside from that, I also had chills in the afternoon for two days straight. Tuesday evening while at work, I was determined to go to a clinic or a hospital the following day to get checked.

Long story short, we were back in San Mateo Doctors yesterday so I could get checked. I had a CBC, urine, stool, and electrolytes check. Thankfully, there was no ameba, but the lab tests showed that I had UTI and bacteria so I was given prescriptions.

As of writing, I’m still not fully recovered but I’m a lot better compared last Tuesday. I’m taking my meds and I’m hoping I get better no later than this coming weekend.

Thank God for His healing hands and for the meds that helped me get better.

“He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.”

  1. Get well soon! Hirap pag mommy nagkasakit, hindi tayo maalagaan ng anak natin. hehehe! I hope it will go away after 7 days, I experienced kasi na after 7 days of antibiotic, hindi siya nawala so my OB prescribed another antibiotic.

  2. I understand the sadness and pangungulila talaga. I hope you have fully recovered now. You have to he strong and always alert for Nate. He depends on you a lot.

  3. It's the season to be sick yata. I'm also having allergy attacks and sinusitis, sa changing weather yata natin. I hope you and your family are getting better. Ang hirap magkasakit ngayon. At kung pwede lang wag na mga bata ๐Ÿ™‚
