Last Sunday afternoon, after I went back to the church from my dentist appointment, I told Melisa that I was feeling really tired. She told me to sleep but I couldn’t as we needed to go home. Aside from that, we also needed to drop by the market to buy our food supplies for the week. So we left at around 6 PM and bought the stuff in the market and head home.
It rained on our way home. And although the cab driver was kind enough to take us straight home (most taxi drivers would complain so we’d cut our trip and just drop by the municipal hall and ride a tricycle from there going home), we were still a little wet with the mist before we were able to get a cab.
After dinner, I knew I wasn’t feeling well as I was starting to feel cold. So I asked my sisters if I could rest first and they could take care of Nate – to which they politely agreed. When I was in bed, that’s when I knew I’m sick. I started shaking as I was really feeling cold. My sister was kind enough to give me a back massage. I slept early. I woke up feeling bloated and a few minutes later, I felt the need to go to the restroom. By the morning, I knew I was having constipation.
To be sick on a Monday is something that I really hate. I spent the entire day in bed yesterday and I had to force myself to go to work. And you know what’s worse? I wasn’t performing well at work. I made a mistake that made my boss really unhappy. I was feeling so down and demotivated.
What I am thankful for now is that I am feeling better – no more constipation, no more flu, and my voice (which is my main tool at work) isn’t hoarse. There are still 4 more days before this work-week ends and I am just giving everything to God now. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. The name of the Lord be praised!
Times when my body is down with a sickness, I am always reminded of God’s word. That He heals. That He sustains. That He provides good health. Let me share with you six of the many God’s promises of healing. May you find these verses uplifting too.
I’d like to add this article post from Our Daily Bread in addition to these verses as I find this article really heart warming. If you’re sick while reading this, I pray that God will heal you and that His promises of healing will strengthen your faith in Him during these times when you’re physically down.
If you're a mom, getting sick is the least thing you want to happen because you can't work or do chores at home. You are blessed to have a sister who can take care of Nate if you are sick. Wala ba sick leave sa WAHM?
I also pray that God completely heal you and that your voice be back to normal. Cheer up! God answers the ptayers and requests of kind souls like you.
I hope you're feeling better by now. Take care! Having flu is common nowadays. I've had it on the last week of last year. I was scheduled on leave and planning for a vacation somewhere but when your body is weak, there's just no better plan of enjoyment than to stay in bed and rest. Best to listen to our body sometimes and give in to its demands. 🙂
Wow, this blog post have just reminded me how great our God is. I'm so blessed reading your experience and how God healed you.The Bible verses you shared will be a big help to us, since we used to forget that our great healer is no other than, but God. I'm so blessed with this article of yours. God bless and continue spreading Gods word.
Matthew 11:28 has been one of my favorites Bible verses. It's amazing how our Lord doesn't only heal us physically but in all aspects of our lives. Being the Great Physician that He is, He also heals us emotionally and spiritually. Indeed I am blessed with your life. 🙂
Yes, God is our healer! Take care always! Health is wealth!
Ever since I got sick last December, it seemed like I never got healed. I'd be okay for a whole day then by night time or the next day I'd feel sick. I pray too whenever I'm at my worst may it be physical or emotional. Anyway, thanks for sharing these verses.
After reading healing promises i'm feeling good. It is so positive, i feel as if god is working on promises. Thankyou so much 🙂
