If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I am currently doing workouts to lose my belly fats. It isn’t easy and it’s frustrating sometimes. Patience is very important (and I need TONS of that) to keep going.
I lessened my rice intake to almost like 75%, I eat A LOT before I started my home workout. Now, I can say that I am on my way to a flatter tummy (and hopefully and abs, lol!) but I’m still a work in progress. I try to choose healthy foods instead but there are also times that I can’t keep that goal.
We often think that eating healthy food is enough—therefore we expect a tremendous result for our weight loss. However, there are healthy foods that when eaten in huge amounts will only cause weight gain.
Here’s the top 4 list of foods to eat in moderation when you are on a “journey to a flatter tummy” program.
1. Diet soda – Artificial sweeteners cause slow metabolism. Therefore, it keeps us from losing the weight we want and instead, even causes weight gain when taken heavily. As much as possible I keep myself away from sodas, but there are still times that I drink them, specially when in fastfood restaurants.
2. Low Fat Foods – Aside from moderately eating fat is healthy, low fat foods tend to keep us from eating more, which in turn makes us gain weight than losing it. Small portions of the real thing are healthy and helpful in weight loss rather than staying with a low-fat food.
I personally don’t observe eating low fat foods, I just eat in moderation. And yes, less rice, really.
3. Granola – Oats, seeds and nuts are healthy but when it is eaten with loads of sugar and honey, it makes you gain more than lose weight. Ugh, why is sugar so sweet but so…er…harmful? Lol.
4. Fries and potato chips – People that frequently eat french fries can gain almost a year and a half each year. Making them at home only makes them a little bit “better”. According to a Harvard study, potato chips are the food most strongly associated with weight gain over four years.

Knowing what makes us gain weight is helpful to (of course) avoid and reduce intake of these. Also, the intake of natural cleansers and detox can help in losing that extra weight. Let me say something about this – I tried Lemon detox drink, it tastes good at first but the longer it stayed, the more it tastes awful! I’m not sure if I’m doing it right, so if you have any best advice for me to be able to actually “drink” those detox drinks, please, please let me know! Haha.
