WAHMa-Rama: My Daily Thoughts (Week 18)

“We don’t remember days, we remember moments!”

August 15, 2016 – Habagat 2016
Habagat is here again, ang pinaka-feeling na hangin sa Pilipinas. Sabi nga nila, feeling bagyo daw sya samantalang hangin lang. Grabe, it’s been more than a week and it’s been flooding in Metro Manila, even us here in Rizal. Good thing it didn’t reach our place.

According to gov.ph update, as of Aug. 13, La Mesa Dam Alert: Elevation is steady at 80.05(red alert) 5 pm since 4 pm and 10 cm below overflow level of 80.15  Recommended enforced evacuation since 1pm.

Please stay safe everyone! This is another reason why we stayed here at home.

August 16, 2016 – Kites
Do you have any wonderful memories with kites? Me and my siblings do! I remember we’d spend hours and hours outside, just watching the kite flying high above. I remember I once envied the kite because it could fly, and I couldn’t haha! Silly childhood reasoning!

Moral from a kite:
I’m sure most of us knows that the kite symbolizes our love ones who are currently away from us. I always remember Dane and my love ones when I think of kites. They might be far from us, but the “string” is still there and that string keeps us connected no matter how far the distance is.

So speaking of kites, Nate had his first kite today, it was just made of plastic and broom sticks but he was so happy he got to “fly” his kite for the very first time! lol!

Kids are amazing aren’t they? They don’t think about the brand, they don’t think about the price, they don’t think about the cost of a certain toy or thing – they only think of happiness and they let their imagination do the work. It’s amazing how contented they are with what they have!

August 17, 2016 – Creativity Switch “on”
When you become a mother, you are suddenly given a gift of being creative even if you’re not artistic, right? haha. Because I can attest that I myself am not good with arts at all! Pero sometimes, ideas will just suddenly pop up my mind. I’m sure many moms can relate to this! I think it’s another gift for mothers given by God.

Honestly, I’ve seen so many bento boxes already and for so many times, I’ve been amazed at how awesome other moms/people creates bento. I’ve been wanting to give it a try but I wasn’t sure if it would look good! haha. Earlier today, I finally had the courage to give it a try, it’s not bento, I just leveled up Nate’s food appearance and I think he likes it! I will keep trying to do stuff like this, I think it’s really nice to be able to see your child enjoy your “food art”. lol! It pays off all the effort of trying to be creative! lol! So here’s my first try:

August 18, 2016 – Nate’s “new” behavior
Something concerns me lately, I notice that Nate easily cries recently. When someone takes his toys without his permission, he cries, when someone unfamiliar (or even familiar to him) greets him and he’s not in the mood, he cries, he cries over petty reasons lately. I’m not sure why but I try to talk to him about this and I hope that he learns that he doesn’t need to be wailing right away but learn to express himself more and more.

What challenging behavior does your child have and how did you try to correct it?

August 19, 2016 – Teen’s Bible Study
Today’s another good session with these teens. They’ve become more interested about God’s word and today, they’ve asked many questions, which means they are eager for answers and want to learn more.

I hope that God will bless our bible study, that it’ll continue and that these kids will learn more and more about God’s work.

How did your week go?

Ciao!!! 🙂

  1. Once upon a time, I was walking in a mall. My boy was like less than two years old. As soon as his uncle approaches, he starts crying. I guess that is normal for some kids. Some do, some don't. I was quite a week for you, for sure, and yet so routine. That includes the habagat rain, sanay na tayo diyan eh.

  2. Oh I remember habagat! That was a bad day… I was stranded for a day because of it. It's nice to remember good and bad things that happen to our life. It reminds us of the happyness and to tell ourselves that we are strong no matter what happen

  3. When I was young I still remember in our province we had fun in making kite, using the bamboo tree sticks and cellophane. Pagandahan, palakihan kami. The good thing there is there were a wide place to run for the kite to fly and air to sustain the kite on the air. Nate is lucky kasi kahit nandito sya sa Metro he will able to enjoy and experience playing kite.

  4. My week was pretty much the same as my other weeks. Spent most of my time with our baby. I feel though i need some alone time, perhaps an overnight stay somewhere just to be away from the hassle and bustle of city life. Or maybe ituloy na ang bad mommas na yan.
