The bible is a book where we get so many quotations and wisdom. It is filled with advice that can help us with our everyday lives. And The bible is not quiet when it comes to working hard. It has so many wonderful lessons that we can get that talks about working hard.

When we think about profit, most of us immediately think of money but it doesn’t just limit to that. It can be anything. Example is a farmer who diligently works everyday to have a good harvest when the crops are ready. He does it in order to provide for his family. Or  a student who studies hard in order to gain more wisdom or more opportunities.

Today, I have 5 bible verses that reminds us about how the result of hard work.

Proverbs 20:13
13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

2 Thessalonians 3:11-12
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

2 Thessalonians 3:10
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Proverbs 10:4-5
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Proverbs 14:23-24
23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

We can all get tired of working daily, we’re just human beings who have limited strengths who need to take a rest in order to have our strengths renewed. Rest is different from laziness, let us not forget the many wonderful things that we can get for working hard for our family and ourselves. It’s ok to take a rest, there’s no problem with that. πŸ™‚

To you who works hard everyday in whichever field you are working, God bless you, keep doing what you are working and you will gain a wonderful harvest if you do not give up!

Have a blessed Sunday! πŸ™‚

  1. People need to work hard in order to achieve their goal, no pain no gain. Hindi pwede yung tatamad-tamad, so when you pray for something, make sure that you are doing your part too. But like you've said, rest din pag may time. Learn to enjoy the fruit of your labor. πŸ™‚

  2. Reading the Bible is one practice I used to do before. I even recite the rosary religiously. I dont know but those were long gone. I wish to make time for both as I agree with you. The Bible is full of wisdom surely life would be more manageable if God's words are our daily reminder and inspiration.
