Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do! It’s more about music this year! I decided to use guitar as Nate’s theme for his 2nd birthday to completely switch it from a sporty, football theme last year.
Why guitar? Because guitar is something that I love, Dane loves, and it seems that Nate is loving too. We bought him a little guitar and he’s using it from time to time. He also loves the guitar tuner app that I have on my phone. So I guess a guitar theme would be perfect for his 2nd birthday celebration.
With Dane away, I’m thankful that there are still people around that I can rely on, even with Dane’s absence. Thanks to my mother-in-law, our neighbor and Junalyn (our church mate) who helped in cooking and preparing the food. To my brothers-in-law who helped with the decoration and took care of Nate while I needed to finish something. To Agnes (also a church mate), who’s always been our program host since Nate’s 1st birthday and dedication.
Nate’ simple celebration was celebrated here in San Mateo, the place where we currently live. Thanks to our godparents who let us in their house and allowed us to celebrate Nate’s birthday here in their home. We’ve invited our neighbors and church mates to celebrate with us.
The decoration was made because of the ideas I got from Google (thanks! haha). And was realized through the help of my brothers-in-law. I wanted a red and white main colors for his celebration and I’m glad it looks pretty dominant. hehe.
I’ve always wanted a cake like this! lol. It wasn’t perfect when we did it but I think it looks presentable and attractive. Haha! I used the cheaper ingredients – Goldilocks cake, Nips (instead of M&M’s), and Stick-O’s instead of KitKat bars. 🙂
I’m proud to say I don’t know how to bake, and I can’t afford an expensive cupcakes so I decided to DIY it. Hahaha! I used Whatta Tops and just made a simple icing (plus my DIY guitar toppers for the cupcakes).
The giveaway bags:
As a forever user of a brown bag for giveaways, I used the the brown bag and decorated it with guitar cut outs, put lace on it and a little thank you note at the back – easy peasy, simple and inexpensive. 🙂
The games are thought of by my dear Junalyn and Agnes (thank you ladies). All for enjoyment and “papawis” for the kids. They played a few fun and tiring games. I didn’t do anything other than watch! haha. They played the simple and usual Filipino games that children play. It’s always nice to see the kids having fun, you know that their joy is genuine. 🙂
Nate’s guitar theme birthday celebration was a success! Thanks for all who helped! 🙂
