WAHM Parenting Diaries

Nate is 2 years old! Where has time gone? Yesterday, he was one little curly-haired baby I held in my arms for the very first time, now he’s a little guy who loves going outside and playing.

This is one of the perks of being a mom, all child’s  milestones and experiences feels like an achievement for us as parents. I don’t even know what to say anymore, Nate has turned into a wonderful little creature and I am so thankful for having him in my life.

Dear Nate,
Happy 2nd birthday love. I pray that God will give me wisdom to raise you while your papa is temporarily away. You’re such a sweet and talkative guy, and it’s really cute when you start defending your petty arguments! Keep making the people around you smile. Please don’t grow up so fast!

Parenting is becoming more and more challenging each day as you’re starting learn to insist on the things that you want (and not want) and throw tantrums. I pray that God will give me the wisdom to be firm on saying “no” to the things that aren’t good for you or that are too much. It’s not easy to balance love and discipline but with God’s help, nothing is impossible. I hope when you grow up, son, you can read this message and know that you are love. If you read this while you’re lonely (hehe), please don’t forget we love you always and if that isn’t enough, God is up above watching you with an unfathomable love.

  1. Happy Birthday and no time, he will turn 3 and you will have a bunch of happy memories with him. it is so cool for a mommy blogger to write a birthday post every year. I am sure Nate will appreciate reading these on his wedding day.

  2. Happy birthday to your little boy! When he grows up and reads all the posts you've made about him, he'll definitely tear up! <3 God bless you and your family πŸ™‚

  3. Happy birthday Nate, and congrats to your mom and dad!

Both my kids are teenagers now, a season where they try to assert their independence. The memories we created w/ them when they're small played a vital part in their lives today.

So continue investing on the emotional bank account, later on in your parenting life, you will need these investments.

  4. Happy Birthday Nate! It is true that it's hard to balance love and discipline. It's only by God's grace, you can do it Mommy Nilyn! Ò€œWhoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.Ò€ (Proverbs 13:24).
